Computational Definiton
Computing can actually be interpreted as a way to
find a solution to the problem of input data using an algorithm. This is what
is called the theory of computation, a sub-field of computer science and
mathematics. For thousands of years, calculation and computation is generally
done using pen and paper, or chalk and slate, or done mentally, sometimes with
the aid of a table. But now, most computing was done using computers.
Generally iIlmu computing is a field of science that
has a focus on the preparation of mathematical models and numerical solution
techniques and using computers to analyze and solve problems of science
(science). In practical use, typically in the form of the application of
computer simulations or various other forms of computing to solve problems in
various fields of science, but in its development is also used to discover new
principles are fundamental in science.
This field is different from computer science
(computer science), which examines computing, computer and information processing.
This field is also different from the theory and experiment as traditional
forms of science and scientific work. In the natural sciences, computational
science approach can provide new insights, through the application of
mathematical models in a computer program based on the theoretical basis that
has evolved, to solve real problems in the art.
Birth of Computing Science
Science or science based on the object of study
distinguished between Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Geology. Science can also
be classified by the dominant methodology it uses, which is the science of
observation / experiment (observational / experimental science), science theory
(theoretical science) and computational sciences (computational science). The
latter can be considered to form the most recently appearing along with
developments in computer processing power and the development of techniques of
numerical methods and other computational methods.
In science (science) of such traditional Physics,

Science, and Jürgen Schmidhuber.
Computational science
Computational science is a branch of computational
sciences. In general, the computing sciences examine aspects of computing for
application / solve problems in other scientific fields, such as physics,
chemistry, biology and others.
In Indonesia has a lot of meetings or scientific
activities related to computing, but is generally more related to aspects of
information technology. While studies in computational science is still lacking.
This is not surprising because more inclined computing science as the study of
pure theory, so that the community is still very limited as well as theoretical
physics. There is only one scientific activities directly related to and
focused on the study of computing science, namely the Workshop on Computational
Science, held annually by the consortium incorporated in Indonesia Computing
Society - MKI. In addition, it has been available to the public
scientific portal also associated with computational science, namely komput @
si. Journals in Indonesia that focus on topics of
computing is the Journal of Theoretical and Computational Studies JTCS. This
journal is a collaboration of the ICM and GFTI.
